About the Author

Laura Zinn Fromm is a journalist, editor, writing coach and the author of Sweet Survival: Tales of Cooking & Coping, published by Greenpoint Press.

She holds a BA from Wellesley College and an MFA in Fiction from Columbia University. She teaches fiction and creative non-fiction workshops, edits books, essays and short stories, and runs writing retreats through her company, Sweet Lab Writing Workshops. She has taught at Columbia University, Montclair State, the New York Public Library and through Kelly Writers House at the University of Pennsylvania. A former reporter and editor at Bloomberg Businessweek, she is a winner of the Clarion Award and the Newspaper Guild’s Page One Award for Labor Reporting. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Huffington Post, Bloomberg Businessweek, Brevity, the Forward, the Girlfriend, the Opiate and elsewhere. She has appeared on CBS, CNBC, and various cable channels, and lives in New York City with her husband.
